Well, he didn't act only like a jerk in this fic--he was quite professional and nice, even, when they first found Rose. I've noticed in the show that when he's called on to do doctor stuff, he's really much more likeable, so I pulled on that a bit. Don't worry, he won't be a jerk for the whole story. *g*
